Burlap, not Leather

A customer came to me with this coffee table that was in great shape (except for the finish and the leather!).  She had seen a table that I had done in black and burlap and wanted a similar look.

Rather than covering over the leather top, I opted to remove it.  Although not always the case, this one came off fairly easy.  The table was painted with APC's Cannonball, then distressed and waxed with APC's dark wax.  The burlap was adhered with ModPodge, then sealed with two coats of Polycrylic and sanded to smooth out the raised fibers of the burlap.

New life for an outdated table!
